The 19 Minutes Story
a.k.a. find what you love and let it kill you
Once upon a time, there was a Poppy Doll that couldn't help but notice this charming Butterfly Prince in this beautiful meadow, flying around her. After over one year of seeing each other, they finally decided to talk. It was very clear that they felt the same about each other. Some time went by and they became very close. The Poppy Doll fell in love with the Butterfly Prince. What she didn't know back then was the fact that he was rather troubled man with many demons to fight. Or, more correctly, she didn't want to see it - she wore big white pearls around her neck, so shiney that her eyes couldn't see clearly. He was really good at getting her trapped in his wings, knowing very well that he won her over. Then he did something stupid and even though she was absolutely devoted to him, she had to put the pearls down for a bit, to see without the shine blinding her sight. The Poppy Doll was angry for a while, unable to help it, so she put the pearls back on, because the Butterfly Man won her over and over again... and then... she just had to know what they are. „Am I your princess?“ - she asked him, scared in his little wind castle, very high in the clouds. „Haha, no way!“ - he said very clearly.... It was 19 minutes after midnight... she packed her things and stepped outside, falling into the deepest cold rainy winter. She then walked in the frozen meadow, completely alone. She couldn't breathe, the tears streamed down her face and she lost her white pearls for good - „oh how can love be both beautiful and painful at the same time“, she thought, broken into million pieces.
That wouldn't be the Poppy Doll's nature if she wouldn't try to be at least friends with the Butterfly Man. She tried, but it was unbearable. She then left the meadow and avoided him for 3 years. He called down from the sky from time to time, wishing happy birthdays, congratulating her on finishing her Flower College, talking about the universe... and she either answered him with simple, very quiet "thanks" or with nothing at all. Time flew by and she found herself a King. She was finally happy to be someone's Queen. But after some years, she wasn't proud on how she ended things up with the Butterfly Man, so she swallowed her pride and went to the meadow again.
He was over the moon happy to see her. They are friends since then, writing music and working on many things. So - just to be clear - it wasn't his fault and responsibility that the Poppy Doll created this perfect idea of him in her head. He never promised anything. She now knows. He's a bit more careful with his words and actions these days though, staying a bit more closer to the ground. They both grew up in very mature creatures and were able to overcome all the bad that happened - actually, they're making something good from it.
You can see a lot of smoke (fog if you will) in this video. And as it is with me, everything has a meaning.
I'm singing words with beautiful meaning, but I'm breathing in the smoke (his demons), which is poison that kills you slowly. Willingly.
I'm playing the piano, but it's all foggy an I can't see properly. Willingly.
I'm listening to the vinyl over and over. Willingly.
I'm giving him my heart (flower in my hands) over and over. Willingly.
I'm drawing our planet with two dots, because no situation had just one dot (period.) ever. Willingly.
I'm saying goodbye. And I'm willingly saying hello again, with a clean slate.
The End:
